Any Nurses:Army, Navy or Air Force

Any Nurses:Army, Navy or Air Force, which branch has provided you the best education, experience, opportunities, benefits as military officer/nurse.

I am looking to become a military nurse in the future and would appreciate everyone's perspective on the military branch they join, serve and helped them career wise.

Explain your experiences, everything is out on the open.

That really depends on:

1) Your goals

2) The opportunities available in each branch, which vary based on the very nature of the branch and the funding available (increasingly low)

Primarily, keep in mind that if you join the service, it isn't about what the service can give you. Especially now as the military downsizes and they are expected to do more with less, if you go in looking for what you can get out of the experience, you're setting yourself up for disappointment (and that's to say the very least). Go in with a full understanding that not only will the military (for all intents and purposes) own you, but they will expect a lot out of you.

I strongly encourage you to speak with recruiters from the branches that interest you--all of them, if need be. They will be able to give you the best idea of the opportunities currently available.

Great advice! Prior AF nurse for six years- can't stress the importance of its not what you can get out of the military, but what they can get out of you. With that being said however, the experience will be whatever you make of it. Attitude is everything.
