Test Taking Strategies Question

Saunders's NCLEX PN Test taking strategy question that I would like some further understanding :

My question is I understand Maslow Physio basic needs but where does "Alterered vision due to the opacity of the ocular lens" fall in the section? Wouldn't that be Safety related to visionT? The question is below

The nurse reviews the plan of care for a client with a cataract and determine that which problems is priority?

1. Concern the loss of eyesight

2. Altered vision due to the opacity of the ocular lens

3. Difficulty moving around because of the need for glasses

4. Becoming lonely because of decreased community immersion

Answer 3

Test taking strategy: This question relates to planning of care and asks you to identify the priority problem. Use Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory to answer the question, remembering physio needs are the priority.

Look at each answer and categorize it as physical or psychosocial. Then you'll be able to narrow down the correct answer :)
