University of San Diego MEPN 2016

Hi all!!! I know it is early but I thought I would start this thread. Is anyone else getting their information ready and applying for Fall 2016?

Yes! I have! Submitted mine to nursingCAS 2 days ago, but I believe that it takes 4-6 weeks to be verified by them...

Hi guys,

I am also applying but am still working on my personal statement and scenario questions. It's so hard to fit everything into what feels like just a few sentences. It totally freaks me out how competitive this program is as it is my #1 choice for so many reasons. :nailbiting:

Hi all! I'm applying as well. I'm so excited and nervous since this is my top choice as well! :-) I have finished mostly everything.. just trying to tune up my personal statement and waiting for references to submit their letters. Good luck everyone hopefully we will be classmates soon!

I am still fine-tuning my application as well! I should be submitting it some time within the next week :) I am so excited and nervous! I was able to attend their info session yesterday and I fell IN LOVE with the campus! I grew up in San Diego and dream of going back so I hope I get in!! Also, during the info session they mentioned that they will be accepting more applicants this up coming cohort than in the past. I believe she said 60 students total. Woohoo! That increases all of our chances! :)

Hey DreamBig562!

Would you mind sharing anything else they mentioned during the info session? I've been wanting to attend but it's a little difficult for me, as I live in Maryland.

I submitted my app today and am just waiting on my last reference. Ahh

Does anyone know when they start sending out statuses?

Hey!

I'm so sorry for the late response! I'm just now seeing your post ): The info session was mainly talking about the CNL position and how its a growing profession and Q and A with current 1st year and 2nd year students. The also touched a little on the different post-graduate programs such as the DNP. The Q and A consisted of questions like how did the students adapt, where are they from, how is dealing with school and family, where do they live, and so on. You got to see how the students came from a variety of backgrounds and not just science. I wish I had the guts to ask about everyone's GPA and stats when they applied but I didn't want to be rude lol.

The director of admissions did mention that they expect 200-300 applicants this year and they will be accepting around 60 students. She also said to not let the large number of applicants discourage you because USD is not everyone's first choice so spots open up.

I hope that helps! Again, sorry for the late response!

I've been reading through different forums from the past years and its looking like we will receive interview invites/rejection letters in the first week of January, interviews mid February, and acceptance/waitlisted/decline letters in the first week of March.

I can't wait that long!

Did anyone else get that application timeline email?

I did

I received the email today! On your NursingCas account does it still say everything has arrived but still waiting on verification??? That worries me since the email said they are going to be reviewing applications this month and December... I'm new to these Cas websites so I don't really understand how they totally work.
