X-ray staff.....

Hey all....

Just wondering if anyone deals with crabby x-ray staff???? Every morning...when they come to get a patient....they never smile...always look like they are going to stab someone at any moment....they are short and sometimes right down mean to nursing staff. That truly describes the majority of them at our institution... Just wondering if ours is the only one??? I just want to tell them to lighten up!!!! OK..just had to rant about that. Ohhh..by the way....incase anyone was wondering.....lastnight was much better....;)

Glad last nite was better, ILoveSnoopy!

Nah, they're not all like that. In all hospitals, I mean. They may have a Simon Legree-type manager, you never know. Maybe the "portables" rotation is considered the pits because of all the extra duties they have, I don't know. I've worked with some great, cheerful techs through the years. Maybe just time and getting to know them, a little unasked-for help, a few hershey's kisses given out unexpectedly, == you know, schmoozing! :)

I have worked with some that -- well, we had a pt come into the DOU with r/o MI years ago . . . I walked into the room to start the IV just as the tech wheeled his eqpt in. He proceeded to ignore me and just do his thing . . . I had to stand and wait till he was done. I was young and inexperienced and didn't get really mad till later, when I realized, if the pt had coded he'd not have an IV to admiinister drugs. Scary. In retrospect (this WAS a long time ago :)) I don't know why he didn't go thru the ED and have an IV put in there . . .

Hang in there! :D
