Would this job help me get in?

I'm considering nursing school and I plan to start my prerequisites in the near future. I have a 13 mo old and another baby due this summer, so I'm trying to figure out timing.

In the meantime I've been offered a part-time job for a company that contracts with local hospitals and medical offices to digitize their old files. It involves both scanning and actual data entry of patient charts. I'm not in need of a job and even though the pay is decent, figuring out childcare and dealing with a commute will be a hassle. I'm only considering taking the job because I'm thinking it might give me some related job experience. Obviously it's not patient care, but it is medical related experience which I don't have. In fact, my previous work experience was basically on and off retail...nothing worth mentioning.

So do you think this job would be beneficial when applying to nursing school and/or when applying for nursing jobs? I'm a little nervous to pass on this opportunity as I'm not sure I would be able to get this type of job as easily again. But I'm also not so sure that it will really help me with my career goals either. Thanks for your input!
