Is it true you can't work during nursing school? how do you have money in your pocket?

Hello,
There is no law against it; it's just very difficult to complete the program because your clinical rotations will most likely get in the way of your job schedule. Having a supportive employer who is willing and able to accommodate your work hours around your clinicals would be perfect!
Things I would add to your list while in nursing school:
1) Do not get married
2) Do not get divorced
3) Do not get pregnant (or get anyone pregnant- I do not know if you are a m/f)
All are very transcending experiences that would take a huge emotional toll on top of going through school and working.
Good luck !
Thank you so much for the reply. the work required to be accepted alone is overwhelming. throwing a wrench into it just seems silly :)

Some nursing students work part-time. My nursing school said a nursing student should not work more than 15 hours per week. There are work study programs at most nursing schools for 10 to 15 hours per week, which should be sufficient for pocket money. A lot of the jobs are fairly easy, so a student can study when the work is slow.

If I didn't have to work I'd probably just be prn at a hospital. I currently have two jobs, both of which are very flexible with my school schedule.
