I've been planning on saving a lot of money to put aside for when I start the nursing program, so I won't have to work. Not sure how well that's going to workout financially since I also have a 6 year old to take care of. However, my question is will it be possible to work part time while in nursing school? I'm talking around 24 hrs a week. I'm still hesitant about it, but being that I have bills to pay & a child, I'm not sure I can do it without working at least a little bit. Thanks in advance for any advice!

I think the answer depends on your schools requirements and expectations. I am in LVN school now and work on call. I've been in school since November and have worked 1 day since December last year. Most commonly, people don't work or work super part time, like not even every weekend. There are a few who work full time and sleep in class and stay awake for 48 hrs Straight.
My school, like many others, changes schedules frequently and doesn't always give advance notice.
My school isn't super hard, but we have lots of busy work and some studying / collaboration with others is required.
