Work after probation

Published

Hello

Needing advice. I'm. a lpn that decided to go back to school later in life. Unfortunately I went to a school that wasn't suppose to be operating. I had to get a lawyer and fight to try and keep my license. This fighting lasted for years finally the BON decide that they will make my license inactive and give me time to redo an accredited RN program. They also placed me on probation under the RN license but said I can still work with my lpn license if that makes sense. I really feel like given up but I love being a nurse and I love what I do. So I decided I will redo another RN program. My question is how difficult will it be for me to find a job with my record showing I completed probation? I feel like my life is ruined.😪

How were you able to take the NCLEX from a school that shouldn't be open?

I'm getting into all of that on here  the question is finding work

So you were able to take the NCLEX and get licensed as an RN. Why were you allowed to take the NCLEX if you went to a school that wasn't supposed to be operating? How long were you working under an RN license before this all happened? Why are you on probation? I can understand not being able to work as an RN, but I don't understand the probation. We need more information to be able to give proper advice.

Sorry but I am super confused so it's really hard to give any valuable advice.  How were you able to take the RN NCLEX if the school was not approved? There has to be proof of graduation from an accepted school to register, you can't even take the NCLEX without that ATT (authorization to test).  Is this a school that was accredited when you graduated but was later taken off the list of approved programs?

I also don't understand the status of your RN license, how can it be inactive but you were also under probation?  I know every state has different rules and regs but it seems your license status would be one or the other, not both.  Why would you be on probation for an issue with your school's accreditation? That  doesn't make such sense unless there were other issues causing the probationary status.

As to how difficult it will be to find another RN job after you complete another RN program and pass the NCLEX, well baby steps. First you have to get that license before even beginning to worry about work and even an accelerated LPN to RN program will take time. Since I've never heard of anybody with this unique situation, I have not  a clue if the previous license that was listed inactive is just reinstated? Is it reinstated already and under probationary status? Or would be issued an entirely new license an a new grad RN?
