Work in Ocala, FL or Hernando, FL

Hello everyone!

We are thinking of relocating from the Tampa Bay area in Florida to a more northern area in Florida like Ocala or near Hernando/Inverness.

My wife and I both work in nursing homes and have been for over 12 years. I work as an ADON at a facility in Clearwater and she is a CNA and works at a Genesis facility in Clearwater. We both like working with Geriatrics/Rehab a lot.

I know there is a Genesis facility in Ocala (the Oakhurst Center) and a bunch of other nursing facilities in the Ocala area as well.

There is a facility called the Avante Center in Inverness we found during some searches plus other facilities in the whole area around Ocala/Hernando/Inverness.

We are wondering if anyone on the forums works up in Northern Florida around Ocala or Hernando and if so, maybe we could gain some insight. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Have a good day!

Gary

Hi there! I live in Ocala but work as an RN in the Gainesville area. Ocala and the surrounding area (The Villages for example) have numerous nursing homes/rehab centers and assisted living communities because of our high senior population. I haven't worked at any of them but am familiar with a few. I'm sure with your experience you would have no problems. Home health also seems to be a big thing here also.

Avante is across the street from the main hospital in Inverness. It's not very big and is an older building.

Maybe the Life Care Center or Diamond Ridge facilities in Lecanto and Beverly Hills? They are larger and newer.
