Work From Home

Does anyone have any tips on how to use one's Nursing experience to work from home?

I'm a Med/Surg RN with 30 years of bedside experience as well as 8 years of experience in Electronic Medical Record development. I've been a case manager for homecare. I've worked with my hospital's Case Management department doing denial reversals with a 50% success rate.

So how do I take one or all of these things and turn them into a great work from home career?

Look up Utilization Management or Nurse Case Manager for insurance companies. I work for one and work from home.

FYI you'll have to be able to sit in front of a computer for 8 hrs a day. It's a huge adjustment but I love it and will never go back to being a floor nurse.

What company do you work

for?

I work for Care Centrix in Florida but we have other locations in different states as well. You can go to their website and search openings but if there isn't anything in your area I'd search for health plans, BCBS, aetna, united healthcare... etc.

Specializes in Trauma, ER, ICU~CCRN,CNRN.

I saw a few for Aetna while job searching. Can you tell me a little more about what you do and the training process?

I've been interested in this for awhile myself.
