Women's boot preference...

I LOVE shoes and boots, oh yeah! I have no idea about AF COT. Since this is a new post, it is in the New Listing area. Would you be looking for a boot to wear while on the job? Please tell us non military nurses, where this is located so we have an idea about the weather conditions.

For myself, when dealing with the cold wet areas in PA during winter, I prefer the Flat soled, 4 inches over the ankle, black, water resistant, manmade fabric Isotoner boot with a zipper. I am dry, well padded, warm, and no stress on my joints. It's a sleek, plain unobtrusive boot, easily overlooked, but functional. Stain resistant, and long lasting. HOpe this helps.

I dont have any advice on female boot preferences or AF COT, but if you dont get the replies your looking for, check Military.com. It has forums for all the branches, the army discussion forum even has topic area regarding uniforms.

Sparkle - I should clarify that AF COT stands for Air Force Commissioned Officer Training and I'll be in Alabama for that portion. Otherwise I just need basic military boots for my uniform. As far as weather/conditions....nothing out of the ordinary at this point, regular hospital setting (my first assignment is Nellis AFB Las Vegas).

ltj.graham - Thanks for the tip about military.com. I'm familiar w/the site and have tried checking it out again lately but I've had trouble w/some of the forums and the 'search' function isn't working for me (to try and hunt specific posts). Anway again, thank you and I'll keep hunting :)

my DH LOVES his boots that he purchased at the the USAF uniform store. He paid about $80.00 and I talked him into the boot inserts that u have to heat up to put into them, but says after 3 m now they r worth every $$ he spent. He needs good boots as he works on the flightline and walks alot in addition to being diabetic. AF COT huh? Nice to see u here again! I PM'ed u but guess u will be leaving soon, or have already left! I was away from the boards for awhile as I had 6 classes last sem.

Hello!

Long time huh. I will definitely check into things here before I take off. This entire process has taken over my life a bit plus I went to Korea for a month so I've been away from here too. 6 classes! I'll bet you're relieved to be done w/that semester. Thanks for the boot tip and I'll check it out. I'm still waiting on some KEY things before I can even leave for COT (my class date is 8 Feb) so I REALLY need them to come together asap. Luckily the 'hurry up and wait' doesn't phase me as much as it would if I was completely new to military life
