Will it make me more competitive?

I'm currently attending a community college, taking my pre-requisites before i hopefully transfer to a university to get my BSN. After looking through the AA/transfer degrees that my school offers, i noticed that I'm eligible for 3 AA degrees--pre-nursing, medical technology, and interdisciplinary studies with a focus in math and science. Will these make me a more competitive applicant?

I actually did the same thing. I am in my last semester of pre reqs at a community college before I transfer to a BSN program in the fall. I actually found I was eligible for 2 associate degrees (pre nursing and transfer studies with a specialization in psychology) and a letter of recognition (aging studies). I will be graduating in the sting with these. It does make me more competitive and it looks good on my résumé. It also makes me proud of completing pre reqs and now I have something to represent that before I eve start nursing school.

Usually transferring to a 4 year school is less competitive in general, especially if you've taken anatomy and physiology, psych, microbiology.

Basically you've already proven to have the brains to make it, so the colleges are generally willing to take you.

Also, there's floods of new grads, and smaller amounts of transfer students. Also, students fail out during the first two years, so you're basically replacing them.

It's basically a win win.

Just an FYI, many schools don't require the associates, just the pre-reqs.

It is essential to verify they will take each and every credit you have.
