will I get to work again/work comp

I have been out of work for a few years due to an injury at work- I broke my neck assisting a mentally handicapped pt. gett up (she threw me against a wall). I filed with Work Comp, and am now on Disability Social Security. I know I will never be allowed to work on a floor/unit, but am wondering about a comment my lawyer made. He said it would be a 10% chance or less that a hospital would ever hire me after they saw my injury/Work Comp. Have any of you ever been hurt, needed Work Comp, and then wanted to return to work? I am looking into the future. If any recruiters here, please let me know what you think.
