I am hoping to go back to school this coming spring for the CNA/prereqs for the LPN program at my local college. I understand I must take a test called the TEAS and am hoping someone can tell me which study guide to buy, and which ones not to! I am 40, and went to college a long time ago, so really feel the need to study up! Thank you!
Oh, and when does one take the TEAS? Is it before or after entrance into the LPN program? THX!

the test is through assessment technologies institute, llc (ati). you can go to their website at the following address:
http://www.atitesting.com/global/students/student-roadmap.aspx
they have review material, online practice tests, etc. granted, there is a fee associated with the review book. there are other review/study guides on the internet as well. simply google (or the search engine of your choice) the phrase "teas study guide" or "teas test". you will get plenty of info.
hope this helps! good luck on your exam!

USE THE ONE THE SCHOOL OFFERS. iT COST ME $40. O TO THE TEAS TESTING WEBSITE AND YOU MAY BE ABLE TO BUY IT RIGHT THERE. Beware of the book that promises to help boost your score at least a grade. I bought it and it basically just told you how to take test....time management and gave you more practice testing and strategies on how to pick your choice by using wording. I thought it was goona have like important need to know summaries of the teas testing book(like the maths, sciences etc.) It cost me $50 for the book like $15 to rush deliver it. They prey on peoples insecurity and know that they will buy it so that they can get into nursing school. Just a few words of advise. I got in the 93th percentile for my school....no thanks to that book! It got there the day before my test so i didnt even use it! I passed thanks to the great study course classes that were offered for a review before the testing....it was that much money and we got to take the actual test for free if you went to the reveiw course....Good luck!
I think the website MAY be http://www.atitesting.com

i searched everywhere for that book hoping to get a discounted one. but the only place other that e-bay i could find it was the ati testing site..
by the way.. the book was the best investment ever.. without it i dont think i would have passed the test.
there is an online practice test you can buy.. but its not worth it.. there are practice tests in the book . Dont spend the extra money.

Just have a question, there are two different study guides for the TEAS test, which one do I order? I will be going through MCI Newport News but want to get a leg up because it has been a very long time since I was in school. Thanks:idea:

For those who have taken the TEAS:
Is the "McGraw-Hills Nursing School Entrance Exams" study book good enough for the TEAS? OR Do you recommend getting the study material on the ATI site?
Thanks

I totally understand how you feel!!! I took the TEAS last spring and I was 40 at the time and a long time out of school. I definitely suggest getting the TEAS book from ati, that is what I did and it definitely helped me to feel more confident going into the test. Thankfully there is a lot of review and there are answers that give you explanations.
Wishing you the very best!!
