Which school should I pick?

Published

Hello, Everyone!

I am a senior in high school, and so far I have been accepted into two direct entry BSN programs. The two schools are Fairfield University and the University of Scranton.

I would love to hear back from anyone who have been in these programs, or those who are familiar with them. I have received academic scholarships from both of these schools and they end up being the same tuition.

Here are the other nursing programs that I have applied to:

Drexel- waiting

UPortland- waitlisted

USanFrancisco- deferred

TCNJ: waiting

Quinnipiac: Accepted but not to the nursing program.

Thanks for the help!!!!

I would choose a school based on 3 things: cost, NCLEX pass rates, and facilities.

It looks like your cost will be equal, so let's toss that out of the equation.

Go to the state BON and look at the official NCLEX pass rates of each school you plan on attending. A good program will have a pass rate of 85% and up.

Then go take a tour of the facilities. The best opportunity will be the school with a great pass rate and really nice facilities that you can afford.

I love Drexel. But is anything else a factor for you? Money? Relocating? Where do you want to live after graduation?

You'll be building a rapport with your nursing teachers and making connections in the hospital you work, volunteer and/or do clinical rotations in. So you ideally would want a college where you would want to live after you grad, imo.
