Which is better for experience

Background is this: I worked 1 yr as a cna in rehab in an LTC setting and 2 yrs as a cna in psych. I graduated in May of this year and took a RN pos at night in rehab b/c I could work on my temp license until I passed boards. Boards are done and I've been offered a pos FT in psych in the hospital. Question is: will I be a more attractive candidate long term if I have the rehab experience or the psych experience.

FYI: as far as work schedules go rehab is better 7-10's at night and then off 7 vs. 3-12's every week.

Depends on what your long term goals are. If it is the stay in psych then go for it. But if it is any other field the rehab will offer the clinical medical skills that are not as honed in psych.

Agreed with above- what is your ultimate goal? You will do a lot of meds/teaching/psychosocial nursing in psych, but technical nursing situations will be scarce. Good luck with your decision!
