Hi all! I am very excited to start travel nursing in Australia. I have narrowed the list of where to go down to the following top 5 locations. Has anyone been to or worked in these places and can tell me a little about their experiences there?
I have experience as a med/surg nurse but not much emergency. I also want to make sure I go somewhere which is big enough that I won't get stuck manning the ED solo. I mean I never mind helping out - but I'm really not qualified to coordinate a trauma that comes in in the middle of the night if there's no one around.
I am looking forward to getting to some unusual country locations though. Places with lots of local character!
These are the places:
Thursday Island, QLD
Derby, WA
Kalgoorlie, WA
Roebourne, WA
Mount Isa, QLD
Thanks for your time!

I hope you realize the distance and transport challenges with these places, they are not exactly readily accessable from the main cities - only by certain air line connections. Especially if you have never been 'down-under' before!
Still, it will be an adventure for you! When you make it keep in touch we would all love to hear your story.
Good luck

Hi,
I am working in KalgoorlieRegional Hospital right now. I can assure you that if you work ED you won't be left alone ever. The web site is a good site to look at and if you have any questions just ask me, ok?
