Where to go from here?!?

Hello! I completely believe in holistic nursing and find it very appealing. I am ready to begin my Master's program in order to pursue my interest in this field. I currently have a BSN, and am working in a hospital setting. I'm lost. I really don't know what degree, or certification to pursue. I guess I would really like to eventually work in my own practice by myself or along with a chiropractor or massage therapist etc. So I guess my question is how do I go about doing that. I can get a masters in holistic nursing with certification but what can I do with that? Would it be more beneficial to get a FNP and then get post master certification in holistic nursing so that I would be more independent in practice? Or is there some other degree that would work better? I am been searching online and it tends to get me more lost. I saw there is a school in NY that offers a masters in acute care practitioner/holistic nurse practitioner kinda like a dual degree, which seems ideal, but I think it's the only one. And I am no where near NY. Other then that I have not found any schools that offer a holistic NP degree. I was looking for advice from those of you who are already practicing in this field, and know the best options to pursue. Thanks for any advice in advance.

Any advice for this person? I'm in the same boat.

Maybe you could network with some of the members of American Holistic Nurses Association.

They have some local chapters, so it may give you some idea of what nurses are

involved in around your area.

Good luck!

You don't want to limit yourself. I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and I have more room to practice in a variety of settings than most. If you specialize in just Holistic, you will limit yourself. I recommend a broader NP field with a specialization in Holistic nursing. Just a suggestion.
