Hi everyone,
I am currently attending Hillsborough Community College in FL to take some gen ed classes for cheap. My original plan was to then transfer credits to USF and then get my BSN RN there. However I am originally from NJ, and I am contemplating if moving back to NJ with my goal to get into the nursing program for a BSN RN at Rutgers is a better option. I'd follow the same process of taking my gen eds at a community college first with the help of NJ Transfers website and then enter the program. Either decision will not set me back much because this is my first semester of college. I just want the best education possible.
In the end, what are some opinions of nursing school in the south at USF, or up north at Rutgers? Or any other program up north such as WPU, TCNJ, etc..
Thanks a bunch!

I did some courses at Rutgers a year ago. Would happily have stayed to do their nursing program BUT it is horribly overcrowded. They admitted too many students in the past two years, classes are overflowing, and needless to say new admissions have become pretty hopeless. They are also ridiculously bureaucratic.
It's a good nursing school, but don't pin your hopes on them right now.
That's an important thing to know and very helpful. Would you suggest another university?
I don't know a ton about the other schools you mentioned. TCNJ is supposed to be pretty good, but I would bet that it's crowded (probably taking Rutgers pre-nursing overflow?).
One of my other schools-of-interest was Thomas Jefferson. Don't know if you'd consider moving to Philadelphia, but I love the city and Jeff is a pretty good school I think. Good luck on the search !
