When to take the Teas test?

Hi everyone!

I don't know if I should take the Teas test before I apply to nursing school, or after..I am a little confused on this since some people say that took it before and some say they took it after they got accepted, which I don't understand because I thought they looked at the Teas test before they accepted you?

Anyhow, what did you guys do? And how hard was the teas test? What exactly was on it?

Thanks to anyone who replies!! :)

As far as I know in CA, CSU & most other 4 year universities tend to want your TEAS score before deciding whether you're accepted, rejected, or placed on the alternate list. Community colleges tend to have you take it after acceptance. You can also take it ahead of time if you're thinking about applying to both. Depending on school policy, you can either print you score & mail it or have it sent electronically for $20 each.

As far as what's on the TEAS, there are tons of threads on that topic so just do a search. Keep in mind that TEAS version 5 came out recently so questions might be a bit different now, depending on what version you'll be taking. Good luck!
