A friend of mine gave me a totally vague scenario she got from her preceptor. In this scenario, it was a 28 y/o female in the ED with: cough, pleuretic pain, and tachcardia. Even though it took me a while to synthesize the info, you kind of notice the fact that these are signs of Pulmonary embolism, furthermore since it's a woman of childbearing age and possibly uses contraceptives that alter blood coagulation, it is necessary to rule this out. I got a majority of this right when asked! I just find it so amazing how far we all come from our first semester to graduation. I love it!
