When should I start applying if I want to start in January?

Hi There,

I graduated in May, passed the boards and have since been stalking sites like Indeed.com for jobs. I'm not ready to start until January though since i'm pregnant and due in September so want to finish out my maternity leave with my current employer as an RN.

When should I start applying? How long did it take you as a new grad NP to get your first offer? I was thinking of applying the end of September/ early October for a few types of positions since I really don't know quite where I want to be. It also doesn't bother me if I have to stick it out in my current position longer than expected which will allow me to choose based on the best scenario of training, schedule and pay and not just because i need a paycheck. Does that timeline sound reasonable?

Thanks!
