What are the two tests given at SPC's orientation?

Hi all,

I know that this has probably been answered somewhere before in a thread but I have searched this board tirelessly and have only been able to find out that one of the two tests you have to take at SPC's orientation is the TEAS. Does anybody know what the other test is?

I will be applying for their LPN to RN program soon and just found out about this from a co-worker who is also trying to find out what the other test is. He is totally freaked out because Math is not his strong point. He is ready to just quit trying to get into a program and just stay with his LPN. I have e-mailed and called the advisors at the HEC but get no answer.

Does anyone know if they take TEAS scores if you took it somewhere else? I know some institutions do not accept scores if the test was not taken at their institutions.

Thanks in advance.

The second test will test your competency as an LPN. They just want to know where you are. To me, it was like taking the LPN boards. You will have questions on peds, ob, psych, med amdmin., etc. It doesn't determine if you get accepted or not so try and relax. At the end, it will tell you your percentage of passing the LPN boards on the first try. The TEAS is the one that covers math, reading, critical thinking, etc. Good luck!!!

Nursegreen -Thank you. I will let my co-worker know too. He is so freaked out. I think all he needs to do is study for the TEAS.
