What would you tell him

tommy shows you a recent blood test report in which normal levels of ldl and triglyceride are shown, but an elevated level of hdl is found. since his family has a history of coronary disease he is concern about high level hdl value. what would you tell him? i have an anwer, however i need an approval. thanx!

Tell him that HDL is the so called "good cholesterol" and higher levels are proven to prevent heart attacks. HDL is high density and is less likely to be attacked by oxygen in the arteries like LDL does which leads to plaque build up. Whatever his diet and exercise habits are, tell him to keep them up!

thanks for your consistent help it is sincerely appreciated. believe me i am not asking anyone to do my work. i know that nursing is hard and it requires a lot of reading, critical thinking and most of all commitment and dedication. i only posted a few of the many questions that i was assigned. the majority i covered. however, i needed some reassurance or a bit of help on those that i posted. again, thanks for wonderful people like you. :heartbeat
