Hello Allnurses,
I'm about to graduate next Saturday (May 5th) :yeah:and I'm beginning to think about NCLEX. We had to take a predictor ATI and the first time I took it, which counted towards us graduating I made a 99%. The second time I took it which was yesturday I made a 95%. This was just a practice test but I think I did pretty well considering I haven't been studying much content lately. We had to also take the Kaplan diagnostic test earlier this week and I made a 57% which I think is pretty bad. Next week our school has Kaplan coming to work with us for a week. I'm hoping this will be very helpful. I'm planning on taking the NCLEX at the beginning of June, but I haven't set a specific date yet. I want to have a good 4 weeks at least to prepare and study for this exam so that I can pass it the first time. Our school has a great record for having it's students pass the exam the first time, so I feel fairly confident. I really want to utilize my study time properly so I wanted to know how you all studied. I plan on using Kaplan and the Saunders book. I don't want to over study, but I do want an organized plan. If some of you used these two resources how did you break down your studying by day? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!!!

First Congratulations on finishing your nursing program big step, May 5th was my graduation day and it remains special in my life:up:...The resources you choose are some of the best for Nclex...as far as Content as well as strategies for passing your exam....Kaplan do all questions in the Bank, very helpful....Saunders good for pharmacology as well. see my post how i studied for the exam.
Thanks Diana2520! I did read your post and I found it very helpful. Even though you had way more resources than I will have, I do think your way of studying will be helpful for me too. With the Kaplan questions did you do them and then studied the things that you missed or did you do Kaplan and studied all the content in the Saunders book too?
i used Hurst for Content...Kaplan i did the pharmacology part as far as the videos and book. i did the questions the ones i got right as well as the ones i missed, i always used STUDY MODE. never times myself unless its a must..like the trainers 1-7 are timed :) yes i did use most i collected while in N.school. But Kaplan and Saunders should be good enough. Kaplan definitely helps with critical thinking questions. when i took the exam, i seriously thought i was taking one of the practice exams. i was relaxed and not as nervous like i have been in the past (Nursing School). if you have access to Nclex 4000, this is one of the best for SATA questions. its 243 questions, i did those twice in my course of studying.,....just like 40 to 30 at a time so helpful.
