What would you do in my situation?

Here's my situation. I am moving to ga in early june or july the latest and need a substantial amount of money to have a successful and somewhat easy transition. I am a new grad and I have been out of school since 12/05 and licensed since 2/06 and cant find a job in my area:sniff: . Its not that the jobs arent available, it has been my experience that no one wants to hire a new grad:crying2: . I have signed up with 2 agencies as a last resort to be able to get some experience and with that comes mandatory orientation/shadowing. I have only shadowed 1 shift (7p-7a) d/t the recruiter being picky about who he puts me with to shadow plus there have been cancellations which I understand comes with the territory of working agency and I have no problem with that. So, this morning, I have looked in the classifieds this morning and have found that there are some facilities that are hiring but, they are hiring pt 3-11 and ft 11-7. So, should I apply and if offered, should I take the position knowing full well that I will be moving away? I am really at a crossroads w/this and I really dont know what to do:confused: ? I am frustrated, tired but eager to learn and eager to be a excellent and extremely competent nurse; most of all I need the money to assist w/ the move and I need what all new grads need: EXPERIENCE.

I would be upfront with any facility that you are applying. It cost a great deal of money to train a new nurse and a lot of time. The LTC I work gives new grads a minimum of 3 weeks of training and then they need months of working with a strong nurse that can answer questions as they arise and guide the new grad. I have heard that many LTC's give much less orientaion and may be willing to hire you. If you feel comfortable taking a job with less training they may give you a chance. Good luck to you.

I live in Ga and was wondering what part you are moving to? you can email me at [email protected] or if oyu have yahoo or msn its the same...
