What program is a good stepping stone before applying into the nursing program?

My college has a Liberal Arts Health Science associate program. Do you think that will be a good program to start and then apply after a year apply into the nursing program? Will that cover most of my pre reqs?

You don't *have* to get a degree before starting a nursing program.

I did though, because it was two extra classes, and I'm old and wanted that worthless (to everyone but me) piece of paper and got my Associates of Science in Biology. If you want the degree, I'd talk to an advisor though.

Good luck!

You will need to look up the nursing programs you are interested in and make note of what pre-reqs are needed. Anatomy and Physiology, Chem I, Microbiology, and Nutrition are common classes that are needed. As a student, you usually have some choice in picking your classes, so you should talk to your advisor to get some guidance, as these classes usually require more basic classics be taken, like Bio 101. What type of school are you attending? As above poster stated, there are several options to get your nursing degree, do some more research about options before you commit.
