What to look forward to in the nursing program

I am told that it looks very good for me to get into the program in January. I am wondering if anyone out there can tell what I will get myself into. I was just wondering about the hours, days, missing days and so forth.

The schedule will depend on where you get accepted. For the most part, expect Block One to be 3-4 days/wk anywhere from 4-8 hours/day. As for attendance, they are pretty strict. The amount of days absent from clinicals is mandated by the state board

because we have to "clock" so many clinical hours. Usually you can miss no more than two clinicals per semester. We had about 5 people in our class learn the hard way that there is no way around the attendance requirement.

what to look forward to..... you will eat, sleep, breathe nursing the ist couple of semesters- if you get good grades the ist 2 semesters, the rest is not bad. try not to get behind. you can work, but if you dont have to or can work part time,do it. it is a lot of fun after the ist semester when things start to sink in. ask lots of questions and form a study group early on. it will all be worth it when you are done.good luck!:lol2:
