What keeps you going through the hectic times of nursing school? What do you do to relax during the really stressful times?
I'm still doing pre-reqs, but after work and school, I get motivated to some Scrubs and relax to some good blues music like Taj Mahal... or killer German groups like Fettes Brot or Deichkind, and although it seems feminine for a guy, I love a really hot bath! So what keeps you trudging through?

This is my second semester in nursing school. I'm in accelerated school, so you can only imagine. We literaly hit the ground running. I also have two children and my husband. Thank god I don't have to work, until school is done. Some of the girls in school, really have no life, they take their lab top everywhere with them, they eat and talk about the topics for that day. I don't, I take my break during the day, I eat my lunch in peace without talking about any of the materials. I usually study in the school library, but when I get home its my kids and my time. I enjoy being with them and eat dinner with the family. Sunday is my day off of everything, we just go out, watch a movie, go to church or simply just stay home and veg out all day.

My motivation is the fact that when I am done I can have that RN at the end of my name and a new career that I have always wanted. That said, sometimes I just want to SLEEP!! I really miss sleep! I try to make sure that I have time set aside for doing something non-school related. If I don't get some down-time to let myself just relax and recharge, I'll burn out. I learned this the hard way my first semester of pre-reqs.
It sounds like you are finding ways to relax by listening to music that you enjoy and taking hot baths. A hot bath can be therapeutic in many ways (mind, body and soul) so I think it's an excellent idea!
Keep it up! I'm sure you will do great!!!
