I have an interview coming up for a part time RN job for next week.
I currently work full time a medic and I was working per-diem as a nurse; however I left my nursing job in December for the following reasons: Poor management, low morale, understaffed (it was a revolving door), slow flow through the ED because the physicians will work up even a stubbed toe if they can, and just a miserable place to work.
My question is how should I explain this during the interview if they ask? I know I do not want to speak negatively about a past employer to a potentially new one, so is it ok to just say I left so that I could focus on school and obtaining a position in a new area of nursing? (I had worked in the ER for 7 years).
Thank you for any input.
