What is CSRU?

Hi there -

First of all this is my first post, but I also wanted to thank this community for being a great resource through nursing school!

I'm going into my last semester and just found out my preceptorship rotation will be on CSRU at Primary Children's Medical Center(PCMC) here in SLC, Ut.

I'm assuming that CSRU is Child Support Recovery Unit but I can't find any info on the PCMC website? Google shows an Iowa website that makes it sound like it deals with financial issues. It sounds like mainly paperwork, not a skilled nursing floor like I am hoping for.

Does anyone know what the CSRU is and what I should be expecting???

Also, I've talked to a couple faculty and they are not sure what the unit is but they guess it's some sort of neuro-rehab. The lead facility for this preceptorship class are very slow respond and have office hours that I can't make this week.

Thanks for any info!

Welcome to AN! Many facilities call their units something specific that may not be widely known. The only options I can think of are trying to see if there are any job postings for the unit and seeing what the job description states or waiting for the response from the faculty.
