4 weeks as an RN

Hi everyone, just touching bases. Going on the 4th week as an RN on the floor. Lots to grasp and learn...but it is going better than I expected. My preceptor is okay. But I have noticed a lot of "bad habits". Not quite sure how to handle them, it makes my work that more difficult to clean up someone elses mess, you know what I mean. But a nurse supervisor has been visiting the unit I work on and thought I was an "experienced" nurse. Said that I didn't look like I was orientating...lol God bless all of us and my best to all.

Congratulations ADNCYN on your fourth week as an RN! I am just beginning my 5th week and the amount of information I am learning is amazing! When my orientation is over, I will be working in the float pool, so I am getting 2-3 weeks of orientation on all of the med surg floors and towards the end, I will be going to the critical care units. I bet it made you feel really good that the nursing supervisor thought that you were an experienced nurse. That says something about how you carry yourself. That you appear professional, and confident. Well I wish you continued success for the rest of your nursing career. Again, Congratulations!

I feel like I've learned more than my clinical experience at school!!! LOL LOL
