Walk Through?

Hey gang, how do you walk through? I am traveling from Canada for a site visit to a facility in Ca. I want to walk through while I am there. What is this like, what documents do they want me to present? Do I just bring a filled out application? Help...anyone know?????? Any one done this????

Very anxious, only have one chance to do this, leaving around the 20th.

Have you written your NCLEX? Do you have a valid US license in another state already?

I am from Canada also, but you need both of these...plus a US social security number (and to get that you need your TN visa...and to get the visa you need your CGFNS certificate). California is a difficult state to get licensed in initially. Minn is easiest for us Canadians.

Good luck.

Yes, you need to already hold a license in another US state to be able to do a walk-thru. If you do, and the state is part of Nursys, then you are all set, if not, the state that you hold initial licensure in will need to send verification to CA first.

If you do meet the above, you can do a Live Scan the day that you go to Sacramento, you have to appear in person in their office for that. Go in around 0900, and you can be out about 1300.

But just thinking, you will need to give them a SSN# to be able to get a permanent license issued to you.
