Waiting

How long on average does it take to hire with Home Health Agencies? I live in the Central Texas area, and have put in numerous applications, with no success. I really want to do Home Health, and am willing to wait as long as possible. Should I wait and put in another application in a month or so? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Were the applications in person or online? If online you could follow up with a phone call to make sure they received your application.

I'm brand new to home health and had trouble getting call backs at first. What I did was take a few online home health CEU courses and added those to my resume. I also learned a lot doing them, which helped in interviews.

Good luck on your job search!

Thanks. Where did you find the home health CEU's?

I applied in person and was hired on the spot. I recommend going to the offices in person, ready to fill out an application; have your resume, list of references, CPR card, proof of physical exam, TB test, and other employment papers at the ready. You may be set up for an interview at a later date. You may be interviewed and hired at that time. It is too easy to forget about phone calls. It is harder for them to turn you away when you appear, bright eyed and bushy tailed, raring to work, in the pink, right there in their office in front of them. Good luck.

Thank-you so much. I have looked at the site. There is a lot of really good courses.
