visually impairsd nurse- please answer

hi , i am 28 yrs old male nurse, i was born clinically high myopic in rt eye. iam a high myopic rt eye(-14) and lt eye(-5). iam nearsighted but see 20/20 with glassess or contacts in lt eye. recently i have done ICL surgery on my rt eye now i can see but i cannot read with rt eye (peripheral vision). if i closed my good eye cannot read with right eye. my family also a poor family. i want lot of money to protect my family. in this situation I decided to study CGFNS OR any other courses. The main problem is if I pass the CGFNS exam , there is any chance to get a good job in abroad because i am high myopic(ONLY RT EYE). i think all hospitals must check nurses medical check up before their joining (eye test). but i have 7 yrs experience in hospitals presently i am a industial nurse. in my carrier i am good nurse for every one.but now i am totally dipressed because of my vision. please somebody tell me if i pass CGFNS EXAM , any chance to get a good job in abroad. PLEASE ANSWER ME PLEASE

Very few US states require CGFNS exam, most require a credentials assessment by CGFNS. All US states require passing of the NCLEX exam. No other country utilizes CGFNS for credentials assessment. Do you have a BSN? (BSN is minimum degree for most work visas in most countries)

What country do you currently live & work? I am guessing you do not have a work visa for the US, right?

With the current economic status of US and much of the world your barrier to getting a job will be the high unemployment rates and low number of positions. Your visual impairment will not be a significant barrier if you have already demonstrated clinical competency as evidenced by your 7 year work history.

What is an industrial nurse? Do you work in a hospital? Or do you work in a factory and provide services to staff there? (That would be an occupational health nurse). Occupational health nurse is not a high demand specialty in the US. The specialty positions most often seeking experienced nurses are OR, critical care (NICU, PICU, CCU, civic I, SICU, ICU, etc), emergency, LDRP/maternal-child.

Depending on your country of birth, the wait for an EB3 work visa (visa most BSN educated nurses fall under) can be 2-15 years. Those born in India & Philippines have the longest wait.

As far as immigration & customs, I don't think visual impairment would bar you from entering the country like a communicable disease or a criminal conviction would.
