Published

Hi l,

I am looking at working abroad as a qualified nurse with two years experience behind me (one year as surgical/medical in cardio and respiratory my ward does all those thinga plus a years experience in cardiac and thoracic critical care. New job in crit care starting in september can't wait.I

I am a uk nurse but worried my age may stop me from gaining a worl visa abroad. I intend to work abroad for a year or more. From what i can tell i might be too late as Australia and canada say i am too old which is a pain. There are other countries but had my heart set on Canada. Ihave been before and loved it.

When i read the age restrictions for the visa it seems an early age but i would like to know if anyone might have more info on this than i do.

I am continuing to research but it's helpful when others give their advice too.

I am only newly qualified too and i am about to turn 34.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Although you can't use IEC for Canada you can, depending where in Canada you are looking at to live and work, consider Temp Work Permit. However the journey to register as a nurse is long and expensive and you will require both clinical and theory hours on you r transcripts in Paeds, Mental Health, Obstetrics and Adult
