Hi everyone..
Only today came across this part of all.nurses.com today...Jusat got off the phone with CGFNS and my Visa Screen is in the mail YEAH!! ...
I am now ready to move to the next step which is to obtain work..
I have a couple of questions...It is a three day drive for me to go to TN which is where I would like to live..Do you suggest I apply online for work or go there to get work, but then I have to drive back to get my TN Visa at the border??
I am interested in Vanderbilt's Pediatric Emergency Dept.
I have been in contact with Travel Nursing and they said they could place me in a position there but like I explained to them I do not want to travel but I would be interested in knowing about my choices..
They assured me I would have work...If I do choose to go with them and decided I wanted to stay on at the hospital where I do my first assignment does that Hospital owe them??
Some of it is so confusing..
Maybe someone can shed some light for me..
I have enjoyed reading the board and comments..Kudos to you Suzanne for wonderful posts and support and dedication..
Thank everyone...
Tennessee wannabe!!

If you want to stay there, then apply directly with the facility that you want. If you go there via an agency, and if the contracts are not renewed after 13 weeks, which sometimes happens, then you are stuck. Usually your contract with the agency, will require that you not go back to that facility for a period of one year............or the facility will need to pay about a $10,000 fee to the agency. Most do not want to do that.
I would contact the hospital directly, if they are really interested in you, they will usually fly you down for an interview. They you could go home and back up and take care of what you need to do. But I would definitely not drive down there without a job and a signed contract...............
