Virtual Nursing

Hello all,

Wondering who out there is doing virtual nursing?  Specifically nursing in the inpatient setting via camera and TV into the patient room.

I am wondering what the general opinion is about this for the nursing profession as a whole?

Yes, I was looking for more information on that as well

Alot of hospital systems are going to this model of nursing. I just started my virtual position. It helps the bedside nurse by freeing up time for them to medicate patients or the actually take a break. My hospital is hiring for positions that will be 2 days virtual and 1 day on the unit a week. It's good for older nurses who may be leaving the bedside if not for these openings. It's less physical but you can still use your skills by being on the floor 1 day a week.
