Hello all,
I've been lurking on this website for awhile now and have a few questions. I graduated with my BSN on 5-5-14 from an LPN-BSN mobility program. The school I graduated from requires us to 'get the green light' from ATI before taking our boards. I have been doing this virtual ATI business for almost two months and feel as though I haven't learned anything. If you don't get a good score on a test they have you study more and retake the exact same test. So you basically just start to memorize the answers. They do not have a very large test bank. Anyone thinking about doing this program... Don't do it!! I loved having ATI throughout nursing school and found it helpful but the virtual ATI just plain sucks. Okay, rant over! Just wondering if anyone else has used virtual ATI and had success on their NCLEX-RN boards? I'm starting to think that once I get the green light I might need to pay for and do the Kaplan qbank as I feel like I'm not learning a darn thing with ATI and so many of you wonderful people have had success with Kaplan. I am also using Saunders 6th edition but feel that the questions are insanely easy and not structured like NCLEX questions. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Our school offered Virtual ATI and I didn't really care for it. I did some of the extras but mostly just took the tests. I mostly used NCSBN learningext. I also used Mosby's 20th edition. I took my test today and got the good pop up. Keeping my fingers crossed until I get the official results.

My school also required the ATI although at the time I thought it was a waste of time. It was the only study method I used, along with most of my class and we had 100% pass rate.
Thanks for the replies. Rachel how long did it take for you to obtain the green light from ATI?
Wow, you're whole class had a 100% pass rate? That's great! Gives me a lot more confidence in ATI. I just felt like the modules don't have very much content to them and the test banks aren't very big. But I will keep chugging along and hope for the very best! I've tried for the green light twice and will hopefully get it next Friday when I try again! How long did it take you to get the green light/how many of the final comp predictors did u have to do? Thanks for your reply, it's comforting to know others that have done the Virtual ATI as all I read about is Kaplan.
From what I can remember, we started the virtual ATI and the beginning of our final semester. We were all required to have all the modules complete and get the green light before our final exams were complete. I was able to take the NCLEX as soon as I graduated following all the paperwork going through of course.

My school also used ATI. I a 70.1% on the second predictor exam saying i have a 90% of passing the first time. Been going through the tests on "My products", but not looking at the "create a review" thing. I took hurst so i mostly review content through that.
But overall i dont like ATI and in my opinion I would advise not to put money into it.

I had to use VATI green light for my school (they would not even finalize our paper work till we got the green light). The VATI books are just a synopsis review of the content. You need to utilize your text books (esp. Med-surg) for complete review of content that you need help with. They tell you to utilize other resources. VATI was the only review I used along with LaCharity for extra SATA questions. I passed NCLEX RN first time and my school also has a 98-99% pass rate. Hope this helps. Good luck you can do it!
Thanks for the reply. I agree with you, I wouldn't advise anyone to pay for Virtual ATI out of their own pocket. My school requires it....ick!
Thanks Roman, I think I will purchase the LaCharity book as I have heard a lot of great things about it. Thanks again!
