The health district is going to be the cheapest place to get vaccines.... depending on what you need it's going to cost you anywhere from $300-$800 though.

As for your vaccines, you'll probably need to contact the health district in whatever state you grew up in to see if they have you on record. That would be your best bet. Two of my friends had to do this. One friend had success in locating the records, the other didn't and she had to get a full set of immunizations (cost about $1,500)

If you're currently a registered student somewhere, I'd check the pricing at the school health clinic for both vaccines and titers. I know our clinics have been a lot less then public health.

A titer (blood test measuring specific antigens that will show evidence of immunity) for some vaccines might be worth it so you don't need to receive unnecessary vaccines....but just the ones you need boosters for.

Go take a "Titer test", if you've been vaccinated then it'll show. Then just get the shots you need... Varicella is very expensive and most places don't carry it, so do a titer first. If your going to CSN then go to the main page and enter titer test in the search box.. you'll find a sheet with the lab codes, then just take that to a doctor of your choice, they'll do a blood draw and you'll have your results in 2-5 days.

The health district offers pretty cheap immunizations, but ImmuVax (they do all of CSN's vaccination clinics) is the cheapest. The HepA shot is a bit more expensive, but the health district charges a $25 administrative fee for shots and that makes up much more than the difference is price. I'm going to get a titer for varicella because I know I've had chickenpox, and I am 75% sure I've gotten the full series of MMR before. You're pretty young, so you may have. But often colleges want a recent measles shot. Be really clear what your requirements are for that one.

Yeah I didn't think about that. My last MMR shot was probably 15 years ago before high school. It's not much more expensive to get another one, so I may as well do it. I know they do wear off over time too. My dad had the shot in high school, and he got the measles 4 months ago when he traveled to Reno. It was miserable for him. Definitely don't want to go through that. Thanks for the heads-up :-)

This is what I had to do. My parents lost my records and when I went to the health district they had no records of me at all. I even went to school out here in Nevada growing up so none of it really made any sense. I paid money to get titer's done, you can actually do it through csn at a discounted price. The place they sent me to emailed me my results in a few days. It's much better then getting shots all over again.
