UTMB Spring 2018

Hello everyone! I plan on applying to UTMB for Spring 2018 entry and can't find a post on it, so I decided to make one! I am taking my TEAS end of April. I already have a degree from the University of Houston in Health Communication and minor in Nutrition. I am finishing my last two prerequisites (A&P2, Microbiology) right now at a community college. Anyone else looking to apply? Deadline is coming up next month, so I thought it would be awesome to get a group thread going! Would love to hear from others applying!

In previous application cycles it seems as if there are multiple rounds of interviews/acceptances. Hopefully she means it could be 6-8 weeks for those to be completed, not 6-8 weeks before anyone hears a peep. Maybe that is why it could be sooner. I guess we just have to wait and see.

For Fall 2017 admission we had three rounds of interviews and a fourth round that was almost all people placed on the waitlist.

So did most of the people from the 1st couple waves get accepted into the program?

Hey, I'll have my interview on July 20th too, what's your interview time? Might can see you there . :)

Hey everyone, I had my interview this morning and it wasn't bad at all! They just talk about your personal statement, study habits, your support system, and your future goals. Very great atmosphere and staff! They said it'll take about 4-5 weeks before I hear anything. Good luck!

Congrats on your invitation and my time is at 11:00 might be one of the only guys there but good vibes I'll be giving

That's good to hear and that's what I expected they would ask interviewees, if you don't mind who interviewed you? And I bet your glad your are done, I would have chosen Monday but I needed time to prep myself

@Onthepath91 I had Ms. Day. She was great! And yes, I wanted to get it out of the way and I'm so happy I did!

Well once again congrats on practically being done and let's hope for an acceptance letter in those following weeks :)

How long did the interview last? I have mine on friday

Your allotted 30 min for the interview

No not everyone got in from the first waves. I know of three who were interviewed who were denied and I know of about that many who were waitlisted. Two of those waitlisted have eventually gotten in. One has not heard yet and could be waiting until the week before classes start. Also, the interview times are not a hard and fast 30 minutes. The interviewer I had went over and my full interview was almost 45 minutes. We got to talking about the program and expectations and the conversation just continued naturally.

Thanks for the clarification, I imagined it would be 30min cause of the time slots but I guess they just go over the next interviewee and so on and on..keep them good vibes everyone
