UTA FNP help!

Published

I was just accepted to the online FNP program at UT Arlington. Since applying I've talked to a coworker in the program. She has not been impressed with the way things are handled at UTA - the grading, professors, the "hoops" that you're required to jump through - and has decided to drop her class and do the Chamberlain program.

I work full-time as an L&D nurse, am married, and don't have kids. Can I get anyone's thoughts on the program? Should I be searching for another one?? I have to send a response in the next couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Specializes in PICU, Nicu , transport.

Your experience maybe different than your coworker's. Maybe accept for now and also explore other options. I'm at Texas Tech if you want an online program. A few people a have worked with have graduated from there and have worked full time through the whole program.

Specializes in Obstetrics.

I haven't heard much about UTA FNP program at all, I've known several who have completed Texas Tech's program and worked full time with no problem.

While doing research I came across it UTA and am applying as well. I'm applying for the Feburary 2016 start.

I too work in Labor and Delivery and really want to end up working in women's health(whether I be a FNP or WHNP)so I am also looking into Frontier Nursing University WHNP. I've read so many good things about that program. So just to have options I will be applying to both.

I would love to know what you decided on :) Please keep us updated!
