USM CRNA 2021

Just got notified that I will be interviewing in a couple of weeks for University of Southern Miss CRNA program for 2021 start! Anybody else? Are their interviews more clinical type questions or personal?

I applied as well. I haven’t heard anything yet! How did they notify you? From previous people I know that applied they ask more personal based questions

They notified me via email! I would reach out and email them tomorrow since you haven’t heard yet and see what they say.

I might do that! Maybe I just didn’t get an interview

Yea! I have one! When is your interview?

It went well I think! And they actually asked both. Personal questions and scenarios about work/school. And then they asked a few clinical questions. Very basic ICU questions based off resume I would assume. Best of luck to you!! They’re very laid back and super nice! Very good vibes they give!

Oh good! I’m glad your interview went well. Good luck! I think they normally let you know within 2 weeks but I’m not sure.

Yea, they stated that due to covid and the GRE and CCRN centers being closed they will hold off notifications until August 1st. And thanks!

Those of you of got interviews. What is your experience, gre score, etc? Just seeing where I stand and what I could do to maybe be more competitive in the future

The biggest thing is they want to know you are serious and making improvements or asking for feedback and doing what they ask is the best way. My stats are:

ACLS, PALS, BLS, CCRN,

2.5 Years Level 1 Trauma in the STICU

1 Year Neuro Trauma ICU and CVICU

Took three graduate Nursing classes in accelerated nursing (Pharmacology, Patho-phys, Health Assessment)

Took their required graduate level Biostats course.

I have been charge, preceptor, and oriented new hires.

GPA-3.53

GRE- 158 156 4
