US to UK

hello guys

I am planning to take my NCLEX soon and I applied in Northern Marianas Board of Nursing. i Heard that licence there is renewable. so i am planning that once i passed my NCLEX and waiting for an employer in US, i will apply in UK first and if got lucky to work in UK, ill go for it. My concern is that, is it ok to just renew my licence as USRN while i am working in UK? would that be my licence in US still valid as long as it is being renewed?

In what capacity are you looking at the UK? As a nurse unless you have experience that meets the UK job shortage occupation list you will find it extremely hard to find a employer willing to assist with work permit. Suggest you have a good read in this and the UK forum as much has already been written about the UK.

Unemployment is at a high in the UK and many UK trained nurse students struggle to find work and requirements are UK then EU before rest of the world. if you look for Sharrie (one of the other international mods) she has a blog which lists requirements etc for the UK. You may want to consider another country or option

However going back to your main question as long as you meet state requirements when renewing license you should be OK maintaining US license
