In need of input
I'm looking into the 30 unit program for LVN to RN at National University. Is there anyone out there that has done a 30 unit program?
My lifestyle and experience is more inclined to better fit this program. I won't be moving out of state, nor is my ideal work place setting at a hospital, which I heard prefers RNs with a Bachelors. I am a single mom and I can't afford to cut down on my full time job, I work 3 12hr shifts, so I have time for schooling.
Any advice, any regrets, any encouragement is helpful.
Thank you in advance

Don't be afraid to check out LVN-RN career mobility type programs that result in an ADN being awarded. The one downside of going through a 30 unit option program is that while you'll complete a course of study that will allow you to sit for the NCLEX, you won't have graduated from a program. Effectively all you'll get is a course completion certificate and your ATT to do the NCLEX. I hope that your choice doesn't limit you down the road from here.
That being said, I don't know your situation or your career goals and if a 30 unit program works for you, great! Personally, I don't know of anyone that's gone through NU's program, but I do know people that have gone through NU for other degrees and they really liked NU. The pace was fast, but it worked out really well and they don't feel like they got a substandard education out of it. So, I guess this is me saying that NU does have some decent programs generally...
Thank you for this.
You're right, it might be fear that drives this hesitancy, I'm discouraged by the length of time and all of the classes needed to get to a ADN or BSN. I need something quick and to the point :)

Just wondering if you ended up doing the 30 unit option?
