Unit Based Council

Hey everyone!

I'm just curious- what are things your unit council does- or that you wish they'd do- for staff? What are some of your favorite unit council driven changes? Does your unit council set up educational opportunities? Do you do outings outside of work? Do you do things like secret santa?

:)

bump. Maybe nobody likes their unit council? lol

Our unit practice council really focused on practice, not so much the "fun" stuff like secret Santa. A lot of our initiatives were military-esque, though -- like trying to enable our Army medics to practice to full scope in the ED, which includes administering some oral and IM meds. Let's see ... we implemented a suggestion box, started using self-scheduling, standardized supply carts in rooms, launched triage protocols, those kinds of things.

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering what changes people have seen driven by unit council that they appreciate, know what I mean? That and fun stuff, too :)

We created a pediatric cart, we're standardizing our IV carts; we are active in the hospital's practice council.... Just always looking for other ideas :)
