UNE ABSN 2017

Published

Just wanted to start a thread for UNE's ABSN program starting in January 2017. Anyone planning to attend this program?!

I have applied and am now waiting to hear from them. Have you been accepted?

Hi! I just got my acceptance letter today :) so so excited to finally get into nursing school! I am waiting to hear back from a few other schools and am hoping to hear any info about UNE in the meantime!

Congrats! I just got my acceptance letter on Saturday, very excited. Waiting to hear back from two other schools, then I will make my final decision. UNE is a great school, and the ABSN faculty seem great, so I will definitely be putting a seat deposit down.

Does it say in your acceptance letter when a seat deposit is due?

I just got my letter, with a nice little scholarship chunk! Are you guys going to the Biddeford or the Portland campus?

I think I will definitely put my deposit down as well, even though I am waiting to hear back from a few other schools. Hilary91 we are given 21 days from the letter to put down a deposit. And janglingsoul I think the ABSN is only on the portland campus?

KBVT its nice to hear that UNE is a great school! I don't know much about it, so I was a little wary at first!

Thank you for the info littlefeets! janglingsoul, I'm almost positive the ABSN program is only on the Portland campus.

Hilary91 and littlefeets, you all are absolutely right!! I was reading in a frenzy before going to work and saw that the return address from Biddeford and just assumed I was going there, whoops :) So tuition for UNE is $33,000 for 2 semesters, does that mean that we would pay $66,000 for the entire program?

janglingsoul, I think tuition would be the 33,000 + a Summer Semester cost (which I'm assuming is dependent on the # of credits we take) + 1/2 of 33,000. So, if the summer semester consists of the same number of credits, then $66,000 seems accurate. And agreed, I think everything is on the Portland campus, unless we have a gross anatomy lab as that would be on the Biddeford campus.

hey I just wanted to see what you guys thought about the accreditation of UNE. It looks like most Masters in Nursing programs require a BSN from a school accredited by the NLN or the CCNE. It looks like UNE is only accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. I feel really worried now that I won't be able to get into Masters programs with this school?
