Hi! I'm applying to this program as well! But I'm applying for the four term option that matriculates in January. Good luck!

Hi, I applied for ABSN Program matriculating in January 2017.

I have applied to the program as well! Does anyone mind sharing their stats?

I'm applying for May 2017. I'm worried because I'll still have classes in progress. A&P2 and pyschology.

I work full time as an accountant and volunteer at UNC hospital one night a week.

Hi all! I also applied for the ABSN program! Do you think we will hear something soon?

I applied for the Jan absn as well. Last year the letters will mailed out the day after Columbus day, I would imagine the end of next week should be about right. They say to contact the office if you don't receive any notice by Nov. 1st. Good luck!

I'm so ready to see if I got in or not. I can't stop thinking about it.

Years past they got the letters last year, but watch they won't come until the 30th haha.

Currently waiting to hear back as well and beginning to get anxious!

I graduated a year ago in exercise physiology with a 3.5 cumulative gpa and a 3.8 in the required science classes and have been working as a personal trainer ever since. I only have around 50 volunteer hours that I completed during college at the saving grace dog shelter near my home in Raleigh. However, I held a part time job all throughout my time in school and volunteered to be a peer tutor in anatomy at the campus for a semester. I also participated in an independent research program where we mentored overweight and obese teenagers around the community. Other than that, I just wrapped up my Nurse aide certification but have no job experience with it yet. The only other nursing exposure that I have is some job shadowing I did with a couple different doctors who I train at the gym and were nice enough to invite me to their hospitals. Not quite sure how I stand but keeping my fingers crossed that I'll hear some good news this week or next. Does anyone think I'll have a good shot at getting in? I've read posts from people in the past years with 4.0 gps and tons of CNA/ hospital work.

Feel free to share your stats if you don't mind!

@longor11 I think you have a good chance of getting in. They are big on volunteer work. The nurse aide certification is great too. What made you want to do nursing? I hope you get in.

Thanks Jessica!

I find professions that have a lot of meaning towards other peoples lives and their health to be more rewarding than most others. To me, that's something I can wake up and enjoy doing every day. Business and sales get on my nerves quite frankly haha and personal training is something I can always do on the side. Throughout college, I considered physical therapy, environmental science, and nursing.. ultimately deciding that nursing and work in a hosptial was the route I wanted to go. I have me eyes on getting my masters as a nurse practitioner! So, UNC currently sits on the top of my list of absn schools since its close to my home in Raleigh. We shall see

I'm getting very anxious as well! I am being a mail hawk! I live just outside of Raleigh so hopefully that'll speed up my notification time. I graduated from NC State in 2013 with a BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and minor in Genetics with Magna Cum Laude honors. My pre-requisite GPA is 4.0. I've worked mostly in molecular biology based hospital and academic research laboratories via different internships during my undergrad. I have professionally worked as a research assistant in an oncology laboratory and as a cytogenetic technologist in a medical testing laboratory. I have had to move around a lot for the past few years due to my husband's military career and am therefore lacking on the steady volunteer hours aspect. I very recently got back from living in Europe for the last year where any relative work and volunteer opportunities for Americans were slim to none. I've helped with a few youth sports programs and on the military base, I volunteered with the adult group fitness classes. I've recently completed a course to get my CCMA, phlebotomy and EKG tech certifications but have not finished my clinical hours yet. I ultimately want to work in some kind of clinical research based nursing, and depending on how the next 5 years go, I'm considering going back for a Master's as well. Kudos to the personal trainer, that's a unique background. I'm sure that'll work help you with the committee. I myself have a passion for the fitness life and have done fairly well in bodybuilding competitions during my downtime for the past year.
