UM NP program Spring 2019

Hello everyone, starting a thread for the incoming MSN/DNP nurse practitioner track at the University of Miami for the Spring 2019

The role of the nurse practitioner is to prevent, educate and provide wellness, I stated in all aspects of life but you can say in adults(because I'm doing FNP, you are doing the Adult gerontology). The nursing model and patient as a whole part is great haven't heard that one. I mentioned how nursing is the most trusted profession, how patients connect more to us than doctors (they seemed to like that). Also the um NP website has an FAQ section that has some of the questions there, with answers if you need to see what they are looking for.

Hey my interview went well I feel so now I wait 2-5 weeks lol. We will see but I feel confident.

Hey you ! Glad you feel it went well that's great news! I mean they informed me in exactly one week, I believe within 2 weeks they will let you know! Hoping nothing but the best for you, let me know if they email you! Much love!

Hi everyone! A little late to the party lol I also got accepted to the part time FNP program. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted. And to those waiting an interview and interview, questions are pretty basic: tell about yourself, what do you know about FNP, why UM, 5 year plan, strengths, weaknesses, time you advocated for a patient, and then they asked a patho question specific to to my unit. Pretty generic nothing out of the ordinary. They told me I would hear from them within a month but I got my acceptance letter a week after my interview. So I guess it just depends. Btw have you guys seen the tuition? Anyone know if UM has scholarships?

@journey2fnp I believe they do offer scholarships, did you have your interview on August 6th or 7th?

I interviewed on the 7th and still haven't gotten an email. I think at this point I'm probably not in :-(

Congratulations to all who got accepted!

Do not say that. You would of gotten a rejection letter. I'd call the university. Find out what happened. Good luck.

Congratulations to all who got accepted!

My friend waited more than a month for her acceptance, and it only took me a week (she couldn't believe it) hold your head up! Just because you haven't gotten a reply doesn't mean you are ruled out just yet! Have faith!

I had interviewed on the 7th.

Day 1 of waiting. I literally laid in bed all day and just can't eat cause of nerves. 2-4 weeks huh? Idk if I can handle this lol. So nervous!

The checking of emails 3000 times a day is horrible, but keep your mind busy, stay calm and just do you. Making yourself worry isn't gonna help, gotta give it atleast a week lol Yoj got this! Good luck í ½í±í ¼í¿½

Oh I'm trying. I haven't checked my email tho so I'm doing good there lol. But mostly I'm ok just still a little nervous. Trying hard not to worry. I mean it is what it is. I can't go back now.

Guys I got in!! I am accepted to the Acute Care NP part time program!!! Thanks for all y'all help!!
