I posted this in the Illinois nurses forum, but I wanted to duplicate it here as well.
Has anyone applied to the MSN program (Adult NP) at UIC for Spring 2007? If so, have you heard anything from them about an interview or acceptance? Or if you applied in previous semesters, how long did it take you to hear from them??
I received an email the other day from Kate that said "If suitable for our program a faculty member will contact you shortly. Interviews are October 25th and 26th"
I'm just wondering what "shortly" means??!! I'm on the edge of my seat all the time thinking about it! :)
thanks in advance!

Katie usually gives really great information and you will most definitely interview on the 25th or 26th. If she said shortly, she usually means within a week or two. I am sorry if I can't be more specific, I am just going by my personal experience with her and the school.
Thank you so much for the response! Waiting is the most difficult thing to do!!!

Hello,
Waiting was very difficult for me too. However I had applied for the Spring 06 cohort and found out in time that I wasn't accepted and luckily had enough time to re-update my application at DePaul University for their MENP program and I started Fall 2005 and will complete the MSN/RN generalist in June 2007.
Turns out to work out much better for me as my end goal hopes will benefit by having the MSN much sooner through them.
Good luck to you and remember that "IF" in case you need a backup there are more and more of these programs coming around. Although UIC's program is a little different in that you do not receive a degree until you complete the entire program, even after NCLEX-RN, it is a long dedication yet, if it is for you then all the best of wishes!!
